Your wedding day is the most important day of your life, hands down. The build-up, however, not always so much. There is so much to consider before the big day, from how you’re going to invite your guests to whether you’ll need hairdresser insurance in case something goes horribly wrong in the hairdressing process. Nobody wants this, so you should always try your hardest to find the best hairdresser that meets all of your bridal needs. Trusted hairdressers don’t just grow on trees though, so there are several steps that you should follow to ensure your hair is as perfect as it can be.
Create a Mood Board of Hairstyles
Most brides already know how they’re going to have their hair on their wedding day, and will have their heart set on it from the off. But, whilst there are many talented hairdressers in our community, not everyone can pull off the hairstyle that you’re looking for. There’s no harm in creating a mood board for your chosen hairdresser, as this way they can get to grips with what it is you’re looking for and prepare themselves for it when the big day finally comes. Plus, mood boards can be really fun to create, and will hopefully get you much more excited for your wedding day amongst all the stress of organization!
Think Outside of the Box
For a lot of people, confiding in their local, usual hairdresser is their first option. However, whilst they’re particularly skilled at a cut and blow dry, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they can create the perfect, most elegant bridal style. With bridal hairdressers, it’s important to sometimes shop around and visit hairdressers that never would have crossed your mind before. Considering that getting married will only happen once in your life (hopefully), it can be worth spending a little more than you usually would on your hair. It’s your big day after all, and you deserve to look in the mirror and feel like a princess!
Book a Consultation or Trial Run
Even if you’ve booked one of the most talented hairdressers in the county, you can never predict what could actually happen on the day. Therefore, it might be worth booking a consultation with your selected hairdresser to run through the exact way that you’d like your hair on your wedding day. And, if possible, we’d highly recommend that you book a trial run! Not only does this test the capabilities of the hairdresser, but it also allows you to see whether or not you actually like the hairstyle yourself. More times than not, brides will have a trial run of their hairstyle and decide that they don’t like it at all, leading them to completely change their decision. Nobody wants to walk down the aisle feeling mildly satisfactory after all.
Consider Their Timetable
Whilst booking one of the most popular, skillful hairdressers seems like a good idea at the time, there are many disadvantages that come equipped as well. For professional bridal hairdressers, you can often find that they have a very busy schedule. Good for them, right? Well, not if you want them to spend a decent amount on your hair to ensure that it’s completely perfect. Whilst they’ll no doubt do a wonderful job of your hair on your wedding day, they may be forced to cut the appointment shorter than you’d like purely because they have another wedding to get to that’s several miles away. If you’re very particular about your hair for your wedding day, it might actually be worth finding a slightly less popular hairdresser, as they might still have the skills needed to pull off your desired hairstyle as well as charge considerably less.
